Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quality vs Quantity. Which do you Prefer ?

Quality rather than Quantity

New Product in the Market ?

Balls Electrical - Germany made phase and sodden made of Polyamide material with IP44 & IP67 glade.

What are phase changeovers ? What are its benefits ?

Phase changeovers are helpful in providing supply voltage to the necessary circuit without changing the phase angle.

What is management system ?

Management System is a network of utilizing efficiently either main power or machines of financial resources for better performance and large outputs.

What are power capacitors ? What are its benefits ?

Power capacitor improves the powerfactor (efficiency of current Utilization) and brings down the cost of energy bills.

What is lighting arrest ?

Lightening arrested provides a low ristance path to the high voltage generated by Lighting and thus preventing damages otherwise caused by lighting, to high wire buildings towers etc.

Types of Computer and telephone cables ?

Metal clad Insulated. Metal clad require Earthing and susceptible to rusting/corruption. Insulated doesnt need Earthing and excellent for high humid condition as they are non-rusting and non-corroding.

What is Voltage ?

Voltage is the potential difference between two point of the conductor.

What is Current ?

Current is the flow of electrons which is used by the machine to do the specified job.

What is Power Factor ? How do you determine the same ?

It is the angle difference between voltage and current. It also means the efficiency of current utilization. For example if the Power Factor of a plant is 0.85, the efficiency of the plant is 85%. It can be determined by KVA. Power Factor can be improved by adding power capacitors.

What are harmonics ? How are they produced ?

Harmonics are integer multiple of fundament frequency. For example if the fundamental frequency is 50 Hz, the 2nd Harmonics is at 100 Hz, 3rd at 150 Hz… etc. It can be determined by using Fourier transformation analysis. They are produced by converting AC to DC.

What is a motor ?

Motor is an electrical appliance which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.

What is relay / contactor ?

A relay / contactor is a switching device which is electrically operated

What is a fuse ?

Fuse is a wire which burns out and disconnects power supply in case of short circuit / overload.
